South Australia has closed applications for Subclass 489 visa
The current subclass 489 visa will no longer be available by 16 November 2019. It is going to be replaced by the newly introduced Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Subclass 491 visa. Many states and territories of Australia have already announced the dates since when they will stop accepting state nomination applications for the visa subclass 489 visa and some have already closed receiving applications for the program, like South Australia has stopped accepting new applications for visa 489 with effect from 14th August 2019.
The last day is also announced for states and territory governments to invite applicants for a subclass 489 visa, and for migrants to lodge their EOI in Skill Select. The last date is announced as 10th September 2019, giving applicants only 60 days' time to lodge their visa application for subclass 489 with the DHA (Department of Home Affairs) before the visa ceases on November 16, 2019.
